How it works

During an extensive initial consultation, Virginia will carefully listen to your life and medical history, including your current and long-standing symptoms, diet and lifestyle, and employ an array of investigative tools, to create a timeline of your health journey.

Towards the end of the appointment, Virginia will take a few moments to go over her understanding of your disorder, and some of the factors which gave rise to it and which may be driving it on. At this point, relevant tests to help identify root causes and imbalances may be suggested and explained.

All of your concerns will be listened to and dealt with, and all of the information you give, together with test results, will be used to create a whole picture of your history and your life now. From this joined-up picture of your issues, a future health plan will be created to help restore you to optimal health.

This unique health plan will include changes to what you eat and how you spend your days and nights (sleep is a huge pillar of health). This plan may include nutritional supplements and herbals, as well as microbiome-boosting supplements (probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics), and naturopathic therapies where appropriate.

The Health Plans

Chronic health conditions have been a long time in the making and the road to better health will take effort and time. Although some improvements may be noticed within weeks, nutritional and lifestyle changes address the root causes of disorders, and this type of medicine takes time to reach those roots.

With this in mind, experience has shown that clients have better outcomes when they opt for a health plan which matches their health needs, whether that be a 3-session, 12-week or 6-month commitment.

The Mini-MOT Health Plan is appropriate for clients who are generally healthy but would like to optimise their wellbeing by improving their diet, lifestyle and supplements regime.

The 12-Week Health Plan is appropriate for clients who are looking to improve some more minor aspects to their health, such as weight control or sleep issues.

The 6-Month Health Plan is for clients who need support for more complex and longer-standing health concerns, such as autoimmune conditions and other chronic disorders.

Initial and follow-up appointments are also available. These are suitable for clients with more minor health issues, who are seeking preventative advice on just one or two simple issues, or who are not ready to commit to a longer-term plan.

A Note on Safety

As a complementary practitioner, Virginia works within strict guidelines to keep her clients safe. This means she will refer you to your GP or primary care physician if she believes your symptoms are outside of her scope of practice.

If you have a chronic condition which has already been diagnosed, or just a set of symptoms which have been troubling you for some time, Virginia will be happy to work with you and this may involve – with your permission - working together with your primary physician or other healthcare providers.

Virginia will always carefully check for drug-nutrient-herb interactions, as well as being fully aware of any therapies which may be contra-indicated with your existing conditions.

Consultations can be delivered via Zoom; however, Virginia believes consultations are best held in person whenever possible.

FAQs

All appointments are completely confidential, and all records will be kept securely on file for 8 years in accordance with the UK records management code of practice for health and care records.

Once a booking has been made, the client will be asked to fill out a seven-day diet and lifestyle diary, as well as a short medical symptoms questionnaire, both of which will help to ensure consultation time is used optimally.

Virginia is contactable by email within normal working hours. She will answer short questions from clients relating to protocols free of charge. Extensive questions will require an interim consultation, which can be conducted via Zoom.

Cancellations: consultations can be rescheduled free of charge, provided notification of at least 48 hours is given. If a client is unable to attend on the day, Virginia should be contacted as soon as possible and she will try to help.
